Update 3/5/16
Hello again.
Its been 3 months since my last post. Damn. I'm not in the mood to make a Broadcast #3 analysis. I know I am getting behind, but whatever. Onto more important things going on.
So I uploaded the video talking about the "Charlie" incident.
I said that I was going to go to the coordinates despite distance or danger. Well, I am having second thoughts on that.
Ever since that video and revealing the information about Charlie and his disappearance, I have been targeted by Cave of Shadows in several ways concerning the coordinates.
The YouTube channel Awake is apparently a member of The System along with ns0mnby. Awake uploaded this video.
At the beginning of the video, that is a silhouette of me from my Charlie video, Awake is talking directly about me. I believe that Awake is saying that I am not safe because 1) I made the Charlie video and talked about the situation publicly or 2) I might be going to the coordinates or 3) Both.
There are other members of The System that have tried to contact me, specifically a person with a new name that I don't believe has been mentioned before: grate. His/her motives and place within The System are unclear, but they have indirectly sent me this image.
I cannot find anything in the image except for the text at the bottom that reads "HE DID IT HE RUINED OUR LIVES BLAME HIM FOR THIS WHOLE THING STARTING THIS WAS THE ONLY WAY I KNEW TO CONTACT YOU AND TELL YOU THIS BEWARE ITS GOING TO GET QUIET AFTER THEIR NEXT BROADCAST AND THATS APART OF THE PLAN SO EVIL DONT TRUST ANYTHING YOU READ SEE OR HEAR ELIAS!"
I don't know exactly how to react to all of this.
I am assuming the last piece (4/4) to the coordinates will be revealed in Broadcast #4. I will decide if I am actually going to where ever the coordinates lead after that.
I will be updating everyone on my Twitter as soon as a decision is made and if anything happens.

Big Updates + Broadcast #2 Analysis
Hello again.
Apologies for not posting a new blog entry in, well a year (not really), as it is now 2016. We finally get our second Broadcast and quite a few other things have happened. I am really far behind on my posting. But, before we go into analysis, I want to update you guys on some stuff.
First of all, I got a twitter. Smaller updates will go there, plus links to the full blog posts here. It will make things much easier to track when something comes up from Cave of Shadows.
Speaking of, Cave of Shadows has been pretty busy lately. Not only with the new broadcast, but recent activity.
So great, Broadcast #2 is supposed to stream on November 1st. But, the day passed with no broadcast. Later, this was uploaded.
The Fall Celebration was something scheduled for Broadcast #2 that was apparently a live event from the system. So something terrible happened during this Fall Celebration that made Broadcast #2 never air.
Also this Xavier isn't the first time we have heard of him. He appeared on the original /x/ thread where I first found out about Cave of Shadows. In this thread, he was warning us about Cave of Shadows and The System. Here's the archive if you want to look for yourself: http://archive.4plebs.org/x/thread/16619951/ I have tried emailing him questions but he hasn't answered back to any of my emails since that night.
After a month, Broadcast #2 appeared as a scheduled YouTube livestream. And when December 19th came, the broadcast finally came as well. There was apparently some weird technical problem with livestreaming, but it was uploaded anyways.
In the meantime, another member of The System named Charlie did a short Question and Answer portion in the live YouTube chat. Basically, the info that we collected from the QnA is this: Cave of Shadows exists to promote The System, a group of people joined together for an unknown purpose and that in order to join The System you must do a favor for them that they want. We also know that Xavier, Charlie, The Overwatcher, and another person called ns0mnby which I have not refereed to before.
Ns0mnby is another channel that uploaded a video attributed to Cave of Shadows called correspondence.
I am not going to get to this video in this post due to a large amount of other content I have to peel through. But anyways, ns0mnby apparently "did a favor" for The System to get in. I personally believe that this favor was posting the correspondence video, this being the only public content that could be considered a favor.
Finally, Broadcast #2 is uploaded to Cave of Shadows on December 19th, 2015.
There is alot of information to get through so lets get cracking.
So the broadcast starts off just like the first one. The "Overwatcher" (still won't get over that name) pops up and talks about a couple of new things. Then he introduces a "special announcement" which is apparently a video someone took of a drain. Words quickly pop up at the end of the clip that say "he sees all".
The Overwatcher then introduces the familiar segment, You Know More. This one is very simple, especially compared to the last one. It is only some vintage looking footage of a lion attacking a deer. In this episode of Mr. Giraffe, he dies again, closely resembling the layout of the last broadcast's episode. But there is one part that affects the overall broadcast.
We will get to why at the end of this analysis.
Alright, here's where things get a bit interesting. The next segment is Weather Forecast, just like the last broadcast. But this is where the "censor by The Overwatcher" starts to take affect, as the segment starts but then is interrupted by this.
There is no explanation of the segment being skipped except "due to Material Under Investigation". Investigation? Why? Like I said, no explanation. My theory is this: the person or people behind hidden messages in the previous Weather Forecast that were supposed to be a form of communication behind the Overwatcher's back, were found out. And the Overwatcher blocked possibly new messages in this Weather Forecast from the public.
Next, we have the segment called "Blank Room with Xavier". Xavier describes an "activity" of sorts where people watch a person fall asleep with narration of the person's movements and apparent feelings and emotions. This is called "Somnum", which in Latin means sleep. As we watch this anonymous person sleep (the face is blocked out), Xavier's narration becomes inaudible and then the stream appears to have been cut short as a technical difficulties screen pops up. This doesn't seem too important, so I won't talk about it. If something comes up where this might be important, I will touch on it in the future.
The next segment is Relaxation, another one that was also in the first broadcast. This time, things are a little bit more interesting. Throughout the segment we see old vintage footage of Disneyland accompanied by an extended version of the song "Beware The Friendly Stranger" by Boards of Canada, which is a familiar artist to CoS as some of their other work is in their Radio playlist. During this footage and music, text appears at the bottom of the screen every so often. The text is as follows.

I have no idea what this means, but I assume it is addressing the people watching the Broadcast. But, it might be addressing a certain individual. The song played during the segment also might have to do with what the text says. But, there is no evidence to back up my theories, so who knows what it means.
The next segment is called "b3JpZW50YXRpb24", which is displayed as Orientation during the video and translates to that. This segment has multiple strings of Base64 displayed during the segment. These strings are as follows.

There is definitely a reoccurring theme of he/him watching and seeing you and everything. It was in the last broadcast, and it is in this one. My theory is that this is talking about The Overwatcher, as his name already refers to seeing and watching. We need to find out who the Overwatcher is. First, the recent Questions and Answers period with the System member named Charlie suggests that the Overwatcher is a real person, not a figment or a symbol for something. Second, that means that we know that the weird MS paint image of the Overwatcher is only a representation of him. For now, that is all I can gather with these hidden messages. Personal note: the voices in the water thing actually disturbed me physically.
Then, finally, the segment that was hyped up by both The System and the public watching, The Fall Celebration. This is the thing that made Broadcast 2 censored. According to both Xavier and Charlie, something happened at the Fall Celebration that stopped the broadcast. Of course, this is removed from the Broadcast #2 we get to see. Whenever I have asked Cave of Shadows by email and through the QnA, people in The System aren't allowed to talk about what happened.
And then, the broadcast ends. Or atleast we think it does. Some Base64 code pops up with some distorted footage from the same playground the Mr. Giraffe episode takes place in. This code translates to a link that goes to a page on the Cave of Shadows website. The page only shows a date, 1/1/16.

Update 10/21/15
Hello again.
I never got back from the Cave of Shadows email about the sudden cancellation of Broadcast #2.
But after a full month of inactivity, Cave of Shadows finally posted something on their YouTube.
So, Broadcast #2 has been officially rescheduled.
At first glance, I just thought that this was a traditional update video. No hidden codes. But, there is one specific thing that's out of place; these several frames right at the end of the video.
In the bottom left hand corner, the word "decode" is shown. Why? I don't fully know.
After fiddling around with the frames, I realized that there is a faint image in the background. Here it is brightened up for you.
I have tried and tried and tried again finding what this symbol is and what it means. I've found nothing so far. Cave of Shadows wants us to decode the symbol. That's what they are hinting at, right? If you know anything about this symbol, please contact me.
Another thing is that Cave of Shadows has updated their website, complete with a broadcast countdown and a forums page. I created a topic introducing myself within the forums, and I hope you will do the same. Even though it is all maintained by Cave of Shadows, it's a good platform for me to be in contact with you guys. You can actually join me in decoding and analyzing.

Update 9/19/15
Hello again.
Turns out I'm not the only one who has an interest in CoS. Lots of people have emailed me and told me they feel the same way and want to join me in "decoding". I've also gotten a ton of emails about experiences with emailing CoS. I will compile the information in another post soon, but there is something that I feel is a more pressing matter; where is Broadcast #2?
Broadcast #2 was scheduled from the get-go, originally being scheduled for taking place on September 11, but it got postponed about a day before hand. Then it was scheduled for yesterday, September 18, but got postponed yet again. Then it was scheduled for today, I got ready to watch my first live broadcast. But then, when I went to the link to the livestream in my bookmarks, the page was not found. I went to the CoS channel and found out that Broadcast #2 has been completely removed as an event.
This is very strange. Why would they continue to postpone the next broadcast? Today, I emailed them with the following message
It has been 3 hours with no reply (except for the automatic answer). I guess we will have to play the waiting game on this one...
I will make another post as soon as I get a message back from them, plus hopefully by then I will have organized some information that I have gotten from you guys.

Broadcast #1 Analysis
Hello, my name is Elias Doyle.
Here is a creepy video.
Before I get to the analyzing, I want to give a little introduction for you.
I love weird. I've always had a fascination with weird and odd things that the average person might call an unhealthy obsession. When I was a freshmen in high school a few years back, I stumbled on an internet message board called 4Chan, specifically /x/ aka the Paranormal board. Everyday after school I would go on /x/ and browse, and I've been doing that ever since. But very recently I found a thread about a strange YouTube video called Broadcast #1 on a strange channel called Cave of Shadows. This has since peeked my interest. So, I've decided to make a blog dedicated to analyzing Cave of Shadows.
So let's talk about Cave of Shadows itself before we talk specifically about Broadcast #1
The term "cave of shadows" generically refers to Greek philosopher Plato's "Allegory of the Cave".
This ideology basically describes how people are chained to a wall inside a cave, forced to look at shadows. These people believe that the shadows they are seeing are the real objects themselves. Then, if one of these people leaves the cave and becomes free, he or she comes to understand that the shadows on the wall do not make up reality at all, for they can perceive the true form of reality rather than the shadows seen by the prisoners. This, of course, is a metaphor for life. It reminds me of The Matrix.
Now, all of this doesn't apply to the channel or its videos at all, right? Well, yes, except for one thing. And that is the channel background.
While researching the Allegory of the Cave, I realized that this channel art is a heavily distorted version of an art piece depicting Plato's Allegory.
This information might be useful in the future.
Alright, now to the analysis of Broadcast #1
The video starts off with a title card and a welcome message from someone called "The Overwatcher." Assuming from the name, the Overwatcher is the person (or thing) that controls the broadcast or it could possibly be a mascot of sorts for Cave of Shadows. It tells the viewers that "we appreciate your viewership" and "to show our graditude, we will now show you this". The video then cuts to a very pixelated video.
The video then cuts back to the Overwatcher, but if you look closely, there are a few frames in right before the cut where some text appears near the bottom left corner that says "he is watching".
The exact same thing happens right at the very end of the video.
Then the segment called "You Know More" plays. I cannot find the source of this information anywhere. If you know where the video played comes from (if anywhere except CoS) please let me know.
Next segment is called "Mr. Giraffe". This one legitimately creeps me out. I analyzed it and nothing is embeded in the music, no hidden text. It is just cut and dry. I don't know what else to say about it.
Next segment is called "Weather Forecast". This has some clear hidden messages. The whole thing is a looping message describing a very generic weather forecast and the video doesn't specify the area being talked about. Very boring, until near the middle. 3 different strings of text flash on the video briefly.
These strings of text are in Base64, a computer language similar to binary code. It's purpose is to basically condense ASCII (normal text) information.
Here is the translation:

I need to confirm that this is a good way to communicate privately
We need to wait until the next broadcast to relay any serious information
From this, we can presume that the Overwatcher is an actual person that holds some kind of power. Hopefully we will gain more information about this in the next broadcast. After the strings of text. the segment goes back to the looping text and music.
Next segment is called "Relaxation". Nothing really unusual here. Just a looping forest background and some text near the middle of the segment giving the viewer complements. An interesting note: in the Broadcast #2 schedule this segment is not listed.
Then, the next and last segment called "Closing Remarks". A similar setup with the beginning, the Overwatcher thanks the viewers for watching and the video comes to a close. The "he is watching" message pops up briefly as stated before and the video ends.
This video and channel really intrigues me. I will continue to follow it and post updates whenever anything interesting or significant happens. I know I will post another analysis for Broadcast #2 for sure.
